Lake Placid

Day One

We make our way eastward this morning, arriving in the lovely 1,000 Islands region this afternoon. We’ll enjoy a scenic sightseeing cruise this afternoon of the 1,000 Islands. The contrast of the blue water, impressive rock and trees is simply stunning. We spend the night in Kingston.

Day Two

We begin our morning with elevation up the 1,000 Islands Skydeck. Then, we cross into New York this morning and make our way into the Adirondacks, the largest protected park in the United States outside of Alaska. We arrive in Lake Placid late afternoon. Our hotel is located in the heart of the village, within easy walking distance of all the shopping in the quaint main street.

Day Three

We’ll see Lake Placid from land and sky today, beginning with a guided tour of the area on our motor coach, followed by a visit to the Olympic Museum, home to many authentic aritifacts and memorabilia. There will be some free time for lunch and browsing in the village, then we’ll venture out to the Olympic Jumping Complex for a taste of what it’s like to be an Olympic athlete. Here, we’ll ride a chair lift up to the base of the ski jump, where we will marvel at the dramatic view. Then, relax on the coach for the drive up Whiteface Mountain. The views from the mountain are stunning, so be sure to have your camera with you.

Day Four

We depart Lake Placid this morning for a scenic drive homeward through the gorgeous Adirondack Mountains. We return home early evening with wonderful memories of one of North America’s most beautiful areas.
