Music of the South

Day One

To Cincinnati: A comfortable ride brings us to the Queen City of Cincinnati, Ohio. We spend the night just across the river from downtown in Newport, Kentucky.

Day Two

To Memphis: We travel the scenic Blue Grass region of Kentucky and into the rolling hills of Tennessee. This evening, you may wish to visit Beale Street, the home of the Blues and B.B. King's nightclub. We spend the next two nights at the Guest House at Graceland, the Elvis-inspired hotel that's just steps away from Graceland.

Day Three

Graceland: The day begins with a fascinating tour of musical Memphis! Then, experience the home of Elvis Presley. The recently expanded Graceland complex is so much more than just a house; it also features beautiful gardens, and extensive exhibits about everything Elvis. Spend the evening enjoying the southern hospitality at the hotel, or head back downtown to Beale Street for more live music.

Day Four

To New Orleans: We make our way to the birthplace of jazz, the city of Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, Pete Fountain, Harry Connick Jr, and the Marsalis family. The signature sounds of jazz, Creole, and Cajun music can be heard all around the city. After checking into our hotel, enjoy exploring the French Quarter and downtown New Orleans.

Day Five

New Orleans: A local guide joins us for a fascinating tour of New Orleans. The afternoon is yours to spend as you wish; you may decide to see the city from the Mississippi River aboard a paddle wheeler, visit the World War II Museum, the large casino near the waterfront, try a beignet from Cafe du Monde, or explore the French Quarter more. This evening, we visit a fun Cajun restaurant for an included dinner.

Day Six

To Huntsville: We depart New Orleans and enjoy the scenery through Alabama as we spend the night in Huntsville, Alabama.

Day Seven

To Nashville: We arrive in Music City USA by mid-morning. A local guide joins us for a tour of the city. This afternoon, we check into our hotel for the next two nights, the incredible Gaylord Opryland Hotel. Spend the evening enjoying the resort, or head downtown to take in the sights and sounds of Broadway Street and all the live music that fills the Nashville air.

Day Eight

Nashville: We visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, showcasing country music from is roots to today. Then, we visit Studio B for a guided tour. This is where Elvis recorded over 200 times, and is still used today by many of country's biggest names. It's truly hallowed ground for any music fan. This evening, we attend a performance of the Grand Ole Opry.

Day Nine

To Cincinnati: We travel north to Cincinnati, arriving mid-afternoon. Our final evening together will be spent on a scenic riverboat cruise along the Ohio River, taking in the lovely Cincinnati skyline with an included dinner.

Day Ten

A relaxing drive brings us across the border and home today, with a lifetime of memories.
