Remembrance in the Capital

Day One:

Travel along the north shore of Lake Ontario and along the Thousand Islands Parkway before arriving in our capital city. The elegant and superbly located Lord Elgin Hotel is the closest hotel to the War Memorial. This is our favourite hotel in Ottawa, and one you will be happy to call home for three nights.

Day Two:

This morning, we gather at the National War Memorial in remembrance of all who have fallen in the service our of country. After the touching ceremony, we travel to the Canadian Aviation & Space Museum, a unique space that showcases more than 130 aircraft and artifacts from both civil and military service. The evening is yours to spend as you wish.

Day Three:

After breakfast, we travel to the Canadian War Museum to gain a new appreciation of events, experiences, and objects that have shaped Canada's history and identity. This afternoon, we're treated to a driving guided tour of Ottawa. See every iconic destination from the comfort of the coach. Tonight, enjoy an included dinner at the Montgomery Legion.

Day Four:

Step back in time to the Cold War era this morning as we visit The Diefenbunker in Carp, a bunker built in secrecy between 1959-1961 to provide a safe location for Canada's government officials in the event of nuclear war. Now the home of Canada's Cold War Museum, this four-storey underground facility is one of Ontario's most popular tourist attractions. Afterwards, we set our sights for home, arriving this evening.
