Iles de la Madeleine

Day One

Travel along the north shore of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River to Montréal for the night.

Day Two

Visit St.-Jean-Port-Joli, known as the woodcarvers’ capital of Canada. Spend the night in Rivière-du-Loup.

Day Three

Travel through the forests of New Brunswick enroute to Miramichi. A unique experience awaits; you’ll spend the evening at a down-home kitchen party. Experience the warm hospitality of Connie and Paul with the sounds of fiddles, guitars and mandolins, and even learn to play the spoons!

Day Four

Visit Olivier Soaperie, and learn about the fascinating health and beauty products made here using homeopathic formulas. Then, we head to Confederation Bridge, where we will cross to Prince Edward Island and onto Charlottetown, your home for the next two nights. We will enjoy an included lobster dinner this evening.

Day Five

Take a full day guided tour of the best of the Island, including Green Gables, “Silver Bush”, and the rolling hills and shades of green and that “bright red mud” Stompin’ Tom sang about.

Day Six

Travel a short distance to Souris, P.E.I. and board a ferry for a pleasant five-hour trip to the Îles de la Madeleine. On arrival, you’ll get a sense of the unique scenery you’ll see over the next two days, including the brightly coloured homes dotting the landscape. Then, check into a lovely hotel for a three-night stay. Dinner is included tonight at the hotel.

Day Seven

Today we will start exploring this beautiful island with a local guide. We will visit the Seal Interpretive Centre, bringing to life the environmental and cultural context of seals. We will have some time to explore on our own during lunch. We will return to Cap-aux-Meules in time for an included dinner this evening.

Day Eight

Today we continue exploring the Magdalen Islands with our local guide, enjoying more of the scenery and local charm. There will again be time for lunch on your own before returning to Cap-aux-Meules in time for an included dinner at the hotel this evening.

Day Nine

Board the ferry for the return trip to P.E.I., and travel across the Confederation Bridge to Moncton, your home for the night. On arrival visit Magnetic Hill, where you’ll experience the bizarre sensation of coasting uphill.

Day Ten

Travel along the scenic St. John River to Edmundston. Stop in Saint John for an interesting guided tour.

Day Eleven

Spend your last night in Montréal, featuring a farewell dinner at the hotel this evening.

Day Twelve

Relax on the coach and enjoy a scenic drive, arriving home this evening.
